SUMMARY
The wide scope of semiconductor crystals with anisotropic structure considered here includes the binary compounds II-VI, II-V2, II2-V3 and III-VI, the well-known ternary compounds II-IV-V2, I-III-VI2, the novel ternary compounds with a magnetic ion Mn-III2-VI4 that being analogs of II-III2-VI4 materials, and also some quaternary compounds and solid solutions. Semiconductor Materials Science of the compound crystals spans Physics, Chemistry, Technology with an emphasis to optical, optoelectronic properties and applications. The physical parameters and performance attributes of the new polarimetric devices made of the anisotropic crystals are described in details and the device prospects in Semiconductor Optoelectronics are surveyed.
This book is intended for specialists in Physics, Chemistry and Technology of new semiconductor materials, and for pre-doctoral and pre-graduate students of corresponding specialties at Highest Schools.
